The Online Capstone Experience
After each spring semester, Magazine, Newspaper, and Online Journalism students spend their last six weeks of the program by participating in the MNO Capstone. The Capstone is designed to capitalize on the writing, editing, and designing skills learned throughout the year. The students work as a team to produce a prototype of a professional publication, simulating the real-world experience of launching a magazine.

The 2007 MNO Capstone takes that process one step further by creating an online component to the printed magazine, recognizing the growing importance of the Internet's role as a communication medium. The website consists of original content based on departments from the magazine. The MNO students complete each stage of construction for the site, including conceptualizing, HTML coding, illustrating, reporting, writing, and editing.
