Bellwethr Magazine | Summer 2014
A tablet publication with an accompanying website, Bellwethr embraces change and recognizes the importance of being part of the digital world. With a dedication to telling the stories that shape tomorrow, Bellwethr strives to understand societal shifts as they unfold. From the burning marijuana debate to the mysteries of the Deep Web, no subject is too taboo for Bellwethr.
The final product of a six-week thesis project, 25 journalism graduate students reported, wrote, edited, photographed, and designed all of Bellwethr’s content under the tutelage of advisors Professor Melissa Chessher, Professor James Shahin, and Professor Doug Strahler.
Bellwethr is comprised of five sections: Act (Politics), Taste (Food), Hustle (Business), Connect (Technology), and Create (Arts & Culture). Each section features a unique mix of Q&As, photo stories, videos, trend pieces, and profiles that highlight the accomplishments of 20-somethings and the news that affects them most.
Written and produced by millennials, for millennials, Bellwethr embodies the ideals, aspirations, and passion of the largest, and most diverse, generation the world has ever seen.
